Lactation Center

Welcoming Our New Arrival …

Health care experts — and experienced mothers — say that breastfeeding is special for many reasons, from bonding to cost savings to health benefits for both mother and child.

The Center for Women and Infant’s Lactation Center is designed to help new mothers and their babies overcome any difficulties that might get in the way of realizing all the benefits that breastfeeding offers.

Our Lactation Center staff members are all International Board Certified Lactation Consultants with more than 50 years of combined lactation experience. Each of our consultants also has extensive neonatal intensive care unit experience.

Open Monday through Saturday, our team is prepared to help you through breastfeeding difficulties, such as:

  • Poor latch/painful breastfeeding
  • Engorgement
  • Insufficient milk supply
  • Poor infant weight gain
  • Jaundice
  • Plugged ducts, mastitis and abcess
  • Thrush
  • Late preterm and prematurity
  • Cleft lip and palate, Downs Syndrome and tongue-tie
  • Preparation for return to work or school
  • Safe pumping and storage of breast milk
  • Induced lactation and re-lactation

Prenatal and postnatal support groups are also offered.

This service is available at no charge to ALL breastfeeding mothers in the community.
